The Tale of 2 First Ladies

Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Welcome back to Abbi's Cozy Corner. Today we'll be talking about something that has often bothered me. And that is the Fox television new's coverage of Michelle Obama versus their news coverage of Melania Trump.

In a video compiled by NowThis News Youtube channel, they feature clips of Fox News' coverage of both Melania Trump and Michelle Obama over the years. Throughout the video we see that the things Michelle Obama was often put down about are the same things that Melania Trump was praised for. For example, in the one of the clips Fox's news anchor Keith Ablow and 2 other ladies say, "Michelle Obama is so, like, the duchess when she speaks. She's kind of annoying though. And how well can she be eating? She needs to drop a few". Then in the very next clip, judge Jeanine Pirro says this of Melania Trump, "She is one of the classiest, most elegant smartest women I know". It made me wonder why when Michelle talked elegant it was as if she was trying to be a duchess and it was "annoying" but when Melania speaks elegant she is classy? The video goes on to show so many comparisons, from fashion (wearing the exact same pair of shoes, but Michelle's being unacceptable and Melania's being the hottest new trend) to their bodies (Michelle was bodyshamed for being more thick and Melania Trump is the picture of beauty).

When you watch and see these clips over the years being shown live, you don't notice that Michelle is actually being judged and treated very unfairly, most likely because she is a black woman. You also don't notice that while Fox news is criticizing the public for being so judgemental of Melania, they were also being very judgmental and hateful toward Michelle. Fox television news media is able to reach thousands of people, so you think that they would try to stick to facts but instead they spew propaganda to the public and are clearly biased.
